But the third little Phœbe was a Little Fool, and he knew it. And he said to his wife: “We are so foolish we cannot foresee all the dangers — we do not even know what they are; but we do know this: that there is a Blue Devil called the Blue Jay, and a Brown Devil called the Hawk, and a Night Devil called the Weasel, and we know that they are not the biggest things on earth.
