The first rank of WOODSMAN or BROWNIE is fastened to the Honor Band and a blue triangle is placed on the Woodcraft Rangers Shield. The next rank is that of HUNTER or WOODGATHER, and may be conferred upon anyone who has claimed a total of 24 coups, six from each Torch, the green triangle being placed on the Wooderaft Rangers Shield. The third rank of BRAVE or WATERBEARER may be claimed next by earning a total of 36 coups, nine from each Torch, with a brown triangle being placed on the Wood- craft Rangers Shield. The next rank is that of CHIEF- TAIN or FIREKEEPER. To earn this you must claim a total of 48 coups, 12 from each Torch. The yellow triangle is then placed on the Woodceraft Rangers Shield, completing the circle. This signifies the member has fully covered the white field of inexperience, with Knowledge in the fourfold way of life. The degree of TRAILBLAZER is conferred on those members who have claimed the rank of Chieftain and have successfully completed 24 out of 30 possible achievements shown on Page 33 of the Coup Bóek. When a member of the Little Lodge has earned all four ranks and the Trailblazer degree, he may learn the laws of the Big Lodge and earn coups from the Birch Bark Roll of Woodcraft.
