Ranks in the Little Lodge When you join the Little Lodge of Woodcraft, you must pay the registration fee which entitles you to all the privil- eges of the organization for one year. You will also recieve a membership card. In addition to paying the registration fee, you must learn the twelve Laws of Wooderaft. When you have recited the Laws perfectly before the Council, without help, and know the meaning of the Laws, you are officially a member of Woodcraft. You are then entitled to wear the Honor Band of the Little Lodge. This is a strip of bright orange felt upon which you place the Coups or Honors you earn. The Honor Band is worn over the right shoulder and fastened at the left hip. Your first Coup can be earned by making a button to fasten your Honor Band. With this Honor Band, you are known as a Minisino or "one who has found the way”. You are now ready to claim higher ranks. The Coup Book is divided into four parts or Torches: Beauty, Truth, Fortitude and Service. For Coups in these four sections, you will receive felt feathers for your Honor Band. Blue feathers are given for the Torch of Beauty. ( Health) Green feathers are given for the Torch of Truth. (Nature study ) Brown feathers are given for the Torch of Fortitude. ( Handicraft ) Yellow feathers are given for the Torch of Service. (Citizenship ) To claim your first rank, you must claim 12 Coups, three from each of the four Torches. When you have claimed these Coups, you are no longer known as Minisino, but have attained the rank of Woodsman, if a boy; or Brownie, if a girl. Coup Feather
